Photoshop disasters

maart 20, 2008

Couldn’t wait to post this one. The name explains itself. “Photoshop disasters“. Funny disasters with photoshop. Have a great time!

Bilson GQ Cover

“OMG dude look as Rachel Bilson’s legs they’re uhhh like totally whoa. Yeahhhh! (sound of smoke being inhaled). Whoa! she’s like uhhh some sort of sideshow. You know what would be (more smoke-related noises) totally amazing: we should uhhhh put like an inexplicably fake umm shadow behind her, so she’s like a warp-legged captain of a rubber sheet. Whoa! Yo Art Director didn’t we order a pizza?”

Kyle Cassidy’s “Armed America”

maart 18, 2008

Kyle Cassidy travelled for more then 15.000 miles across the US with one question: “Why do you own a gun?” This is a good question because most of these guns are not easily reconcilable with the notion of self-defence. Their place should be more like in the Armed Forces. “Armed America” holds all those answers why they keep them at home.

“Zima” by Luis Belmonte Diaz

maart 17, 2008

Yeterday, I came across the work of Luis Belmonte Diaz’s “Zima” (winter) photographs. I love the way he capters this longtime winter around the city.

Zesde Fotobiënnale in Luik

maart 16, 2008

Territoria.

Guide to Unique Photography

Eddy Merckx by Stephan Vanfleteren

The Belgium Issue: Intro

Our neighbours. Belgium. A wonderful country. A country populated with Flemish and Wallonians, feuding over the language. A country full of melancholy, a place where time seems to stand still. Drive from Wallonia to France and you will see why. Belgium, a country with illustrative language and statues that can tell a tale or two. Poetic and surreal, but above all, a country with phenomenal photographers. For us, the inspiration for our Belgium Issue. A combination of up-and-coming talent and well-established photographers such as Stephan Vanfleteren and Carl De Keyzer, with strong national as well as international orientated work. Enjoy.

Hasn’t the Metropolitan Police (London, UK) taken lessons from the past? If you ask me, this is more like fear mongering propaganda. Below you can see their latest “Anti terrorism” campaign.

I came across this series of pictures by Jo Longhurst a few weeks ago. Although I’m not a big fan of dog pictures like say William Wegman and Ellion Erwit did make them, these took me by surprise.

“My work with the British show Whippet - a dog bred to an ideal standard - focuses particularly on the evolution of the visual image of the Whippet, and the construction of human identity through the shaping of the figure of the dog.
