Eva-Fiore Kovacovsky is a Swiss photographer who lives and works in Amsterdam, where she studied at the Rietveld Academy. Her photographic work is playful and often stresses the boundaries of the medium. Using everyday situations and observations Kovacovsky creates a naïve and disarming universe. Still her work displays a well thought out artistic vision and thus avoids the trap of being regarded as merely ‘fooling around’. This is also visible on her website, which is a good example of a creative and refreshing approach for presenting work over the internet and complements her own imagery in a very convincing way.
For her series ‘horses” she recuperated pictures of horses found in magazines. By manipulating and collaging the images she adds a whole new meaning to a young girl’s object of desire.
The series was also published in - the very worthwhile -Archivo magazine.
Her work was shown at the international photography festival F/Stop in Leipzig (Ger) until the 20th of July.
